That Rocking Thing ft. Miriam de Silva by Christopher Labi Rance: Review
The music of Christopher Labi Rance is astounding and captures the spirit of classic rock. His track “That Rocking Thing” features Miriam de Silva, and accompanies high-octane guitar riffs. The pair has excellent chemistry, evident from their powerful singing. Ultimately, it makes hearing the song an absolute joy from start to finish.
“That Rocking Thing” has all the vintage tropes from the golden age of rock. Gripping vocals, sentimental lyrics, thunderous drumming, and electrifying guitars form together to make this track truly stand out. Aside from that, Christopher’s vocal chops are epic and keep the music’s flow intact. As a youngin’, the guitar’s capability dazzled me to the core, especially whenever the distortion tone came into effect. It had a deep resonance, especially how invigorating I felt to headbang and put my fist in the air whenever a power chord was unleashed. In a similar fashion, “That Rocking Thing” brings forth that element into play. The song’s energizing power chords reach its crescendo where a smooth guitar solo enters. Equal parts shredding, and emotional the arrangement felt quite polished to hear.
The song’s interlude had a piano piece that synergized with groovy drums and basslines. This part of the track allowed listeners to take a breather before launching into its final ascension. Although any rock and roll fanatic would vibe with “That Rocking Thing” instantly, it’s an ideal melody for someone just getting introduced to the genre.
