“The Book of Si.” is a thirteen-track hip-hop rap album by Si., which is like reading a thirteen-chapter book about Si.’s current situation as a struggling artist, finding a lover, and carrying on life in Baton Rouge, LA.
The opening track, “Introvert,” is an introduction to the rap artist Si.. It opens with a deep echoing voice, which creates a sense of authority, asking, “Who are you?” followed by Si. describing himself with one word and short phrases. The description gets faster-paced and more raw, which gives us the feeling of being in his shoes and feeling the internal chaos in his mind.
“Receipts” is a track with catchy flowing verses about Si.’s misfortune in love with a materialistic girl where money makes the love “conditional.” “Ego” openly admits that he has a big ego, which he “was never taught to control,” while “Consciously” is a fast-paced, high-energy track that flexes his experience with women.
“The Outro,” as the title of the track implies, is the closing chapter of “The Book of Si.”. In this track Si. opens up about his life, the highs, lows, and transformations, with which he concludes his outro, hoping that it touches the listener’s soul.
Listen to “The Book of Si.” to get a glimpse of the life of a struggling artist trying to make a name for himself in Baton Rouge, LA.
