The Distance by Sombertrap: Review
“The Distance” is a solo project by Sombertrap that was released in November 28, 2022. The artist’s influences are jazz, blues, rock, pop, Pink Floyd, electronic music, and a wide variety of other genres. The track was recorded in his home studio, and the theme of the instrumental track is dealing with the process of grieving.
“The Distance” starts with a beautiful-sounding piano taking the listeners to a different dimension with its soothing notes and composition. It truly is a cathartic tune where your grief or sadness will release you for a while. It is very simple in its construction, yet the beautiful sound of the piano is breathtaking. The tune reminds me of a beautiful place with lots of greenery and crystal-clear water flowing in a creek. The more you listen to the song, the more it grows on you.
It is a well-composed soothing track, where you will forget the worries of the world while you listen to it and the piano playing was marvelous! There was sadness, melancholy, grief, joy, and many more so many emotions packed in one track. The way the artists composed this song was fantastic and even though one might say there are similar compositions like this because of its simplicity. What is so different about this track? It was all about how the artist delivered the notes and the sweet sound of his piano and how he made you feel what he feels.
