The Heroic Enthusiasts released blazing new track ‘Still Life’
Songwriter James Tabbi has a personal connection to the EP’s lead single, ‘Still Life’, and its hypnotic and addictive mosaic of melody, lyrics, and rhythms. The lyrics of the song describe how certain aspects of a still-life painting are reflected in a relationship. Two lovers are experiencing the lightness and darkness of their relationship, feeling alive while realizing that their feelings and emotions will eventually come to an end in death, as does everything in nature.
With ‘Still Life’ and this second EP, The Heroic Enthusiasts continue their long-standing musical collaboration with co-producer Stephen Hague (New Order, Peter Gabriel, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys). The partnership got off to a lucky start with the introduction.
‘Crimes and Passions’ is a collection of five songs meant to take the listener on a journey that conveys emotions, including sweet and savory, light and moody, new and refreshing. It contrasts with that first EP while also complementing it.
