The Human Touch by Ruiz!: Review

“The Human Touch” is a captivating track by Hugh Ruiz Robert, the mind behind the indie/alternative act Ruiz! At times you hear a piece of music, that doesn’t quite follow the usual tropes of the aforementioned genres. And you think to yourself, well, it’ll be just another number, am I right? Not with this one, ’cause the instrumental nature of this track has a whimsical chemistry that leaves your senses cleansed, and wanting for more.

“The Human Touch” is sort of like a party where a diverse clique keeps you company. Such is the aesthetic of the track, so it’s kinda like everything all at once. It does this quite brilliantly in my opinion, and the artist was still able to remain minimal to a given extent! The unique progression style of Ruiz! ascertains each instrument being active for an upbeat tempo. Quite spectacularly, there’s a tad bit of math rock incorporated in the guitar’s wonderful chord progressions, you can almost feel the cleanliness of each riff coming alive.

Just the other day I was minding my usual self attempting to decipher the various lengths singers go to in popular music today. While their essence is to carry the weight of a melody, at times, all that pizzazz needs a dynamic uplift, if you catch my drift. A bit of flair if you will on your singing technique! So, Ruiz’s vocal aspects had this specific blend of the choir, mixed in with emotional indie, and the final outcome was superb!
