The Kofrim release captivating song ‘Memory Loss’
The Kofrim confront a variety of loss-related issues in their new, ground-breaking four-part album, ‘Commentology’, including memory loss and dementia, rifts in our society, brutal wars, and the destruction of the earth. Each topic is presented through the eyes of various commentators, who occasionally clash and argue provocatively with one another, moving from the most intimate to the most universal.
The first part of the album, which is introduced by the song ‘Memory Loss’, centers on devastating but all too common cognitive disorders. The song poses a philosophical query about whether a person with progressive dementia is still themselves inside, or whether they have changed.
A Trans-Atlantic Rock duo, The Kofrim: Israeli vocalist and keyboardist Nir Doron resides in Tel-Aviv. Rhythm guitarist and vocalist Yigal Petreanu resides in Boston, Massachusetts. They have been producing music for over ten years despite living 5,500 miles apart. Some people even consider their music to be decent.
