The Palfreyman Collective by The Palfreyman Collective: Album Review
The Palfreyman Collectiveโs eponymous album is a pristine classic rock masterpiece filled with 11 energetic and meaningful tracks. The artist has a wonderful sense of instrumentation involving edgy guitars, and vocal styles that have a rather vintage appeal to them.
โTo Die, To Be Really Deadโ is an anthemic rock number filled with catchy chanting backing vocals and a powerful drum arrangement to command the piece. The sound has a very energetic presence. Aside from that, the aggressive guitar chords add a touch of finesse. There are a good amount of unique numbers in the album a bit different from the hard rock genre, and leaning more towards a pop sound, such is the case with โIn This Little Placeโ. The track has an upbeat bass arrangement that is like the skeleton of the song. Adding more layers with vocals and a jazz-style piano sequence gave the track a bright and hopeful vibe to it. Thereโs also a gripping guitar solo that truly uplifts the track.
The music from โJaded Zone Driverโ will give you the rush of blues in cohesion with a hard-hitting rock melody. Thereโs a special force in the song coming alive from the sensational distorted guitar riffs that amp the entire scene. Also, an interesting saxophone piece is present in the track which adds pieces of funk and a big band feel on top of rock and roll. The singer is an absolute beast and truly channels a classic rock shouting prowess.
