The Pendulum by For The Ages: Review
Premiered in May of 2022, โThe Pendulumโ by โFor the Agesโ is a synth-infused song for those who want to groove to Caribbean soca beats.
From the first glance of its art, the eclectic blend of blues and purples with a swinging pendulum frozen in motion sets the tone of 90s disco. However did it come to that, you might wonder? Itโs a mish-mash of diversity, just like Timohy Sturt and Alexander Beckett intended with their love of musical genres. And as you guessed, they are our mighty duo of this British band that seeps into the minds of listeners with their indie/rock tracks. Their journey began together back in late 2019, in pursuit of merging the best of dreamy music.
If you go back to their first two releases, โThe Inventorโ and โFestival Skiesโ, you will find a build of common yet modernesque synth styles. And โThe Pendulumโ is nothing short of that. In fact, from the very first second, it carries a reminiscence of Dua Lipaโs โIDGAFโ. Youโll catch the tune mostly in the beginning but then the song proceeds to Timโs masterful touch of soca.
At this point, the world can only hope that they come out with a music video, and very soon. After all, who doesnโt love lyrics of fond childhood memories brought to life? If you listen closely enough, you will get to relive the youth of a simpleton and his Somerset friend, combined with the magic of electronic music.
Want to know what Alex and Tim are up to? Producing timeless fresh releases on all sorts of platforms, from Spotify to YouTube, the duo continues to push the boundaries with their experiments.
