The Violet Exploit is going to release a new single “Lay Down”
People in your life who use guilt and self-blame to manipulate you are depicted in “Lay Down.” Think of people who are “fair weather” or “manipulators.” “Pity, all that’s left are your bones, the emptiness,” begins the song. If I were you, I wouldn’t have any problem with you.” Gives a hazy picture of how one feels in a relationship like this and the feelings that go along with it. For our second single, “Lay Down,” we worked with local producer Jose Gonzalez in Central North Carolina. We were able to try out all of our ideas for this song because we recorded it with him. “Lay Down” is an essential part of our live show. We close every show with it, and it’s a lot of fun for the audience. When we come back in for the final electric chorus, we get everyone to jump as soon as we come back in the song’s bridge. As engrossing and intense as it is, we think “Lay Down” would make a great summer jam. Epic drum fills tie everything together as the guitars and bass play off of each other. “The ladder, you’re bleeding, I don’t believe it,” is a memorable chorus that bleeds through the track. “The rest of the world is not your ally.”
