“This Fight” by The One Tonic is an anthem of perseverance and resilience. The song starts off slow, with a somber tone and a sense of weariness in Matt Soren’s voice. However, it quickly picks up with a determination that’s hard to ignore. It’s such an amazing thing when the singer knows exactly how to express each part of the fight they have fought with the exact emotions delivered through the sound of their voices. Matt Soren is a singer who does keys, guitar and arranges synth. So he has full control over each instrument which, when united, synchronizes his feelings with the same frequency.
In Matt’s verses, he tells the story of the struggles and battles the character has faced, but with determination building over each consecutive chord, pattern, and lyric, the fight goes on. He emphasizes each word, making them come clear over the instruments. His voice fills up with emotion and holds back the crescendo as it fights to rise, till it finally triumphantly surges in the line, “Despite all I’ve done you are the reason I’ve won.” The final climax shows how he’s broken free of the shackles holding him down.
“This Fight” by The One Tonic is an excellent electro-alternative synth rock song with an ambient vibe that showcases The One Tonic’s talent and potential. The song is both powerful and inspiring, with a message that resonates with listeners. Fans of rock music will definitely want to give “This Fight” a listen.
