Wrash Heed has dropped a sonic bomb with his new EP, This is it, and the title couldn’t be more fitting. This project is a celebration of his unique musical identity, blending indigenous and R&B influences with his Islamic identity to create a one-of-a-kind sound.
This is it kicks off with “Taken or Single,” a laid-back rhythm with a ticking groove that’s perfect for the wooing season and the summer vibes. Wrash Heed’s smooth vocals with a touch of grain and texture and the infectious rhythm make this track instantly catchy. But it’s the standout single, “Showcase,” that truly shines.
Produced by El Buzzi, “Showcase” creates an unforgettable listening experience as it opens with a jittery percussion pulsing against an exotic melody. With the hard beats dropping and the strings swelling behind, the song fuses Afrobeats, dancehall, and Amapiano. The song’s infectious rhythm, combined with Wrash Heed, more animated and passionate, surges his vocals with more desire over the inciting rhythm.
The rest of This is it stays just as fresh. “Falling” is a soulful ballad that showcases Wrash Heed’s falling in love with catchy and relaxing conviction over a steady. Meanwhile “Gbera” throbs its glistening and sparkly rhythm section and produces a vibrant and energetic track that will get you moving.
Closing with “My Road,” the artist reflects upon his ride in life, along with his self-discovery and resilience. Here, he showcases his enthralling spirit with his passionate, soaring voice.
Listen to This is it to enjoy the last drops of summer and be the life of the party with Wrash Heed.
