Murder Sermon crashes back into the scene with their blistering new single “Through the Eyes of the Mirror,” released on September 5, 2025. Hailing from Rouen, France, the band has carved a name in extreme metal for their explosive blend of lightning-fast riffs and punishing breakdowns, and this track is the first fiery glimpse into their upcoming album due in early 2026. Recorded at Avatar Productions Studio, essentially a second home for the band, this single gets aggressive and focused in its music.
The track opens on an eerie, atmospheric note, with haunting guitar chords ringing out beneath guttural textures that sound almost like a voice clawing through the void. This moment of uneasy stillness doesn’t last long before distortion tears in, drums begin pelting like heavy rain, and the monstrous growl of the thick, throaty, and gnarled vocals roars forward while embodying rage itself, as if every word is spat from a furnace of fury. It’s not polished, nor is it meant to be—it’s the sound of raw emotion forced into sonic form.
As the song drives on, the riffs get denser, twisting into labyrinthine patterns, while the drums lock into relentless double-bass runs that push the momentum with merciless precision. In the midst of this chaos, the chorus line “through the eyes of the mirror” seems to hold a symbolic weight, about confronting the darker self that stares back at the reflection of oneself. The mirror becomes a metaphor for reckoning with inner demons, and the song channels that battle through feral energy.
Listen to “Through the Eyes of the Mirror,” the opening shot of Murder Sermon’s forthcoming album, to get a taste of their danger.
