Train To Drammen by Jørg: EP Review
Master guitarist Jørg lets out a spectacular array of melodies in his EP “Train to Drammen.” The artist is based in Germany and creates stunning instrumental sequences with a visionary sound. Jørg’s sound pertains to the drive of classic rock, with elements of prog here and there. Aside from that, the tone and phrasing of each guitar piece in this EP are reminiscent of veterans such as Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen. Why do you ask? Well, if you’re employing that much feeling and intensity in your instrumental skills, then you’re on par with the major leagues, my friend.
“Six Tears,” with an emotional guitar shred and compelling rhythms, opens the EP. Jørg’s lead guitar shines with bass, percussion, and keys. Imagine a bright spotlight on the artist’s stance, and each note is like a direct representation of their soul coming back to life. “LeeLa” begins with a drum roll, clean chords, and a lively electric guitar alongside rich and smooth transitions. The bends and shredding sound natural, like the instrument is speaking to us.
“DNA” has a faster, more rock-like pace, with exciting drums and a lively guitar leading the way. The EP ends with the title track, “Train to Drammen,” a prog rock piece that has a bluesy section in the first half and moves on to an all-out guitar extravaganza later on. According to Jørg, it’s a song that exhibits his feelings from a gig in Sandefjord, Norway. Without a doubt, truly top-notch stuff from this talented musician!
