Under The Bleachers by The Artist Ren: EP Review
Indie and Dream pop get together for a lovely fantasia of sound in The Artist Ren’s EP “Under The Bleachers.” It’s an intriguing collection of tunes that are both catchy and introspective too. This aspect arrives from lovely guitar melodies, along with a narrative that’ll speak to the depths of your soul.
The Artist Ren is an artist with a distinct sound that puts a unique spin on the dream pop genre. With the opening song “sleepstuff,” we grasp that cadence slowly. The unique facets arrive from personal messages within the music and the ethereal tones that follow. Altogether, it’s a fascinating essence to take in and follow through to the next one. Eccentrically titled “meowmeow,” this clean indie track will indeed put a smile on your face. It has a gentle guitar arrangement, and an even softer singer grabbing the mic. Aside from that, a deep bassline accompanies the track, and the joy of hearing it all come together is stellar.
Tragic songs can find a way to your heart, in ways you couldn’t have thought about. This is where the acoustic piece “The Circus,” comes into the limelight. There’s something truly moving about this tune, whether it’s the songwriting or the rhythm itself, everything sorta grips you with sentiment. To conclude, the tune “Radio Nurse” gives us a fitting indie pop farewell through funky bass arrangements and a vocalist that’ll make you jump in excitement!
