Pop and electronic music are violently redefined with Siteng’s newest EP release, “Violent Divinity.” She carries a unique sound with a mix of electro and artsy pop, making you want to let loose and dance underneath an imaginary disco ball in your room.
“Crystal Heart” opens this EP with a track that is a testament to Sitengs unique signature style, which combines her high-pitched feminine vocals with electronic synthesizers, creating a track that is both melodious and deep in lyrics with the core theme of being vulnerable in a potential relationship by showing them your fragile “crystal heart.”
“Water and Water” opens with an ethereal play of the piano and synthesizers, which creates the atmosphere of entering an unknown realm. Siteng paints a picture with her vocals; the way she says “water water water water” repeatedly creates the image of paddling through a body of water, which showcases her craft as a musical artist.
“Quest For Us” is a powerful song with the core theme of breaking cycles by ‘letting go of the chains of the past’ and ‘walking through the fire of fear’ to free herself.
“Broken (Home is My Prison),” has a haunting sound. Siteng’s whisper getting louder and louder in the opening creates the effect of an eccentric figure walking closer and closer to you.
Overall, this EP showcases Siteng’s vocal prowess and her ability to set hauntingly beautiful atmospheres with her vocals alone. Listen to “Violent Divinity” to experience art in the form of audio.
