Wear Me Down by Ten Eighty Trees: Review
A riveting new rocking single is here to paint the town all back, with oomph, the right amount of grittiness and absolute power. Ten Eighty Trees is a name which will set fire to any stage with a performance of its latest November release “Wear Me Down”, which talks about the feeling of burnt out from the pressure one puts on their own mind to perfect everything.
In the rarest of occasions, I’ll loop a song on my Spotify list when a song captivates me a lot. That’s the effect that “Wear Me Down” had on me. Wear Me Down opens with some gorgeous driving chorus guitar, reminiscent of Nirvana’s softer times. The main singer has impressive vocal range and strength, hitting the song’s high notes with conviction and accuracy. Almost at one and a half minutes, a brief instrumental interlude serves to demonstrate the song’s powerful magic before it takes you back to the chorus. If you asked me to cherry pick one aspect from the song, I couldn’t tell you which did it for me. It’s the combination of the melody, the vocals, the amalgamation of instrument and the overall composition of the track! There’s also something nostalgic about it, especially for its crashing drums, adding to the depth of the song.
Overall, I think Ten Eighty Trees are a must-have band in everyone’s playlist, no matter their preference in genre.
