What If by The Hybris: Review
The Hybris performs and fills the air with their new single “What If”. It is a dynamic attempt at bold vocals, amazing guitars, and a distortion of sounds with a melodic flow.
Their latest single is an eclectic mashup of many musical genres – indie, pop, funk, and rock in all their senses! The tune is loud and brash, with crashing rhythms, soaring guitars, and booming vocals. This is an alt-rock piece with a funky undertone that explores the hypothetical. They use progressions with plenty of strides and that really sells this mythological idea and the band, aggressive and angst-ridden, radiates uncontrollable intensity throughout it. There is no need for a portal to another dimension for the concepts they propose! The band has been called controversial before due to the fact that they are inspired by real-life situations and mankind in general. In their songs, social storylines address political topics and deep dive into the depth of their emotions which can be heard through the hard-hitting sound. Within this apocalyptic setting, the song “What If” weaves a harmonious tapestry of grungy feelings and existential anxiety.
What makes the trio truly stand out is their commitment to making music, which is why no matter the distance between the US, Germany, and France, The Hybris is an ongoing virtual attempt. From the bridge to the breakdown, it’s clear that this band has what it takes to switch things up musically in order to create something that’s both familiar and fresh at the same time.
