WHAT NOW (Triggered) by Kyle M Watson: Review
Kyle M Watson’s vocal range is a merge between the emotions of Sam Smith and a male version of Beyonce, evoking masterful power. When my Spotify randomly recommended me the song “WHAT NOW (Triggered)”, I was immediately invested. Kyle pulled me in with his honeydew voice, emotional and talking about closure and I knew I was about to fall in love with it!
The pre-chorus is layered with multiple vocal harmonies, in a radio effect, building imagination and anticipation for the powerful chorus. In some portions, Kyle has an unmistakable sound that seems straight out of a choir. The rich bass and orchestral string crossover of this 3 minutes and 14-second track build a strong foundation, adding to the grandeur quality. I can’t even begin to explain the hold the song’s lyrical front has on me, because it certainly “triggered” bittersweet memories of the past for me too. That’s what Kyle does to you, in a heartbeat. Until the very last second, he holds his voice up like a candle in the dark, to unveil the mysteries of what’s next in life after the incomplete demise of a relationship, heartbreak, and resentment.
If you do get a chance to pop into your favorite streaming site right now, you would love WHAT NOW (Triggered) by Kyle, because it’s a magic potion in a bottle. It might just heal another heartbroken soul, giving them a much-needed closure than what he got himself.
