When I’m With You ft. Kelsey Blackstone by Jason LaPierre: Review

“When I’m With You” is a stellar song drenched in jazzy richness and clean pop timbres. Kelsey Blackstone joins Jason LaPierre to generate the track’s clean sound, and both artists evoke a rhythm that resonates plenty. This comes from a strong vocal section and moving instrumental bits that hypnotize your senses.

Jason LaPierre’s tune was a heavenly mix of tones that uplifted my soul. It made me appreciate the creativity that went into this piece, especially the involvement of vintage genres, albeit with a modern touch. 70s soul music, pop, and jazz all form a powerful bond in “When I’m With You,” and keeping that flow intact is Kelsey’s sweet voice. Along with her captivating aura, Jason’s solid rhythms pave the way for a lively tune to take form. It’s pretty evident that both artists had a blast composing this piece, and their melodic friendship puts a smile on my face. It’s even more heightened with funky basslines grooving out on the song. There’s more to the instrumentals than that though, oh boy, wait till you hear it folks. A big band presence is felt with horns and powerful drums. Aside from that, neo-soul guitar chords grace the scene and strum along to the finesse of Kelsey’s voice.
