When you’re smiling at me by Joe Macre: Review
Happiness can from many different things. It might be a present from a pal, that promotion from work that you waited fifteen years (quit please) and finally got, or simply when someone special smiles at you and makes your day! It’s also a wonder when a melody with a fat bass line is attached along with that smile. Hence, our song of choice for today “When you’re smiling at me” by Joe Macre is an absolute vibe.
The song opens up with some angelic harmonies, and the RnB theme kicks into full gear. I was blown away by the bass arrangement of “When you’re smiling at me”. It had this distinct funky tone, that went along perfectly with the guitar rhythms and Joe’s voice. Overall, the song is an energetic mix from start to finish with zero low sequences. It’s a total mood booster that I believe everyone should experience. Wholesome songs that have a great instrumental and vocal section should be more prominent nowadays. Sad songs are indeed worthwhile to hear, and they’re in an entirely different league of their own. But happy songs such as Joe’s composition create a positive atmosphere where the synergy of guitars, bass, and groovy percussions complete the soul-dazzling performance of vocals.
According to Joe, his music is set in upbeat environments. It provides the audience with an opportunity to investigate the meaning behind what he’s conveying. These experiences are derived from Joe’s years of touring and his experiences as an artist.
