Who You Know by Trent Vine and M4SONIC: review
If you weren’t living under a rock, you’re probably aware of the viral hit “What Does the Fox Say” and the brilliant producer who created it, M4SONIC. Trent Vine, a solo New Wave Pop artist, was stranded in Adelaide during the COVID lockdowns, which was where M4SONIC’s studio was located. The couple joined hands on their most recent project, “Who You Know,” an attractive, peppy electronic pop song that you’ll want to keep listening to.
Trent Vine has been likened to “Justin Beiber and Post Malone had a love baby that was raised in Japan” due to his unique fusion of American pop and J-pop. And it actually has the best of both worlds. It is youthful, uplifting, and brimming with appeal due to the highly catchy hook and contemporary sound tapestry. Vine’s singing glides over the song like a surfer over the waves: with ease, style, and confidence. It’s worth noting that the song was written for a digital business card company called “Double Tap,” and it weaves in anecdotes about meeting new people, with the lyrics cleverly declaring, “I don’t gotta have her number, I can just double tap it.” It’s brilliant! The final chorus features a unique instrumental from the rest of the song, written specifically for Titok campaigns and advertising materials. And it absolutely hit all the right notes, remaining lively and engaging till the very end.
“Who You Know” is currently available on all major streaming services. Make sure to give it a try.
