Why we can’t have nice things by Foe ft. DMZL: Review
Bedroom Synthpop is the musical style that Foe creates. He has a background in the IT industry and has been an entrepreneur. He quit his work at the age of 30, while suffering from Crohn’s disease, in order to pursue his ambition of composing music. Foe’s track ‘Why we can’t have nice things’ is a groovy, melodic, and beautiful track with DMZL. It’s a sugary number with colorful instrumental work and soothing vocals.
The synth work on ‘Why we can’t have nice things’ is just phenomenal. Let me just explain, for the record, I’m a big fan when it comes to a catchy rhythm. And Foe absolutely nails the rhythm. The bridge section was very dramatic, and I value something like that in a song. When an interlude arrives, it must feel like an interlude, separate from the song aimed at hitting the right feels for the listener. Thus, when the bridge ends, the synth music kind of fades away leading to the last chorus. In my opinion, that was one of the best transitions I ever heard in pop music. We need more of this Foe! Keep it up.
The voice of the singer is very clean, and the stylized expression on each word is noteworthy. I truly appreciate it when the instrumental arrangement aligns perfectly with the singer. This is when a piece of audio feels like ecstasy. That joyful feeling is truly something every listener wants to naturally feel when listening to a track, and ‘Why we can’t have nice things’ by Foe ft. DMZL surely perfected it.
