Y NOT? by Chris Kabs: EP Review
Chris Kabs makes music that soothes your soul easily. His style brings the thrill of afrobeats, RnB, and a bit of indietronica too. Altogether, it shapes the aura of his EP, “Y NOT?” Wait till you hear it all, folks, ‘cause Chris’ rich voice blends excellently with each rhythm segment, and it’s a joy to hear from start to finish.
The EP opens up with fresh tracks such as “Go Back” and “Nobody.” Both accompany solid afrobeat percussions and a smooth singer gracing the melody. It’s a perfect cadence to hear while cruising through the open sea or casually chillin’ by the beach. A Latin guitar greets us in the intro of “Pushing” and progresses into an exciting pop number that keeps you dancing throughout the night. Thus far, the EP has the perfect flow for anyone’s mood. Think of it like this: you just woke up with no thoughts or worries, just a clear perspective of what your day might be. Grab your cup of joe, hit play on Chris’ EP, watch the magic happen, and your day will be filled with color and excitement.
“Good Bad” has a bassline that freakin’ slaps. Aside from that, the synthesizer lines and vocal spirit are a class act. There’s so much style instilled in this EP, and it’s perfect for someone new to the afrobeats genre. So, just take it easy, folks, and let Chris’ melodic magic do the rest.
