Yarden Blues by Josh Allen and the Whisky Brothers: Review
Bluesy guitar licks, a groovy beat to jam with, and the finesse of rock and roll, ah the boys are truly back. Josh Allen and the whisky brothers are a talented group of individuals, whose music creates an environment where all you wanna do is take a road trip with a couple of buddies and vibe with the bandโs sound.
After a long hiatus that proceeded from their third album โW.B. E.P.โ in 2015, Josh Allen and the whisky brothers composed their new album in 2022 called โStill Aliveโ. The material from their new work is indeed unique and explores the bandโs maturity into parenthood, all the while maintaining that rock and roll spirit.
So, about the song โYarden Bluesโ from the boysโ new album, it is indeed heavily guitar driven with smooth vocals too. The entirety of the song is accompanied by the work of two guitars, one strumming in the background, while the other playfully explores fillers with a clean bluesy tone.
The drums and bassline are both consistent and it sounds like a solid beat, but the guitar solos take the cherry on the cake.
The lyrics talk about the characteristics of a garden, or โYardenโ and the vocalโs pleasant tune bonds well with the guitarโs soulful rhythm.
Yarden Blues is available on Spotify, along with the bandโs other music. Overall, if youโre creating a playlist for your next long road trip out of the city, or maybe out in the desert somewhere, then this is your jam!
