Yocto released enthralling new song ‘Station 01011’
YOCTO debuts with two first singles and a Philippe Beauséjour-helmed music video for ‘Station 01011’. This release emphasizes the band’s distinctive sound on the Canadian label Duprince. The single ‘Station 01011’ is released alongside the excerpt ‘Dactylo’, which you may have heard in recent months.
The two scenes of ‘Station 01001’ are contrasted by the song’s two steadfast rhythmic foundations and contrasting tempos. Darker jazz modal-inspired textures blend with Yuki Berthiaume-alternatingly Tremblay’s suave and determined voice to support a hypnotic mantra. We’re dealing with krautrock, prog, and post punk. An evil adversary is thrown into an obsessional delirium. He makes a promise to himself not to go back until he has it.
Yocto seizes the chance to move in with the adversary as a result. The cheeky duo of baritone saxophone and fuzzy lead guitar closes the room with a frantic melodic solo that pays homage to Crocodile Rock by the always-bespectacled Elton John.
