In a dynamic partnership between composer CS Taber and producer Everett Young, Chucky Trading Co beats with the heart of Laurel Canyon, offering a timeless new folk-rock track called “Your Freedom”.
The song begins with a blend of mandolin and 12-string, and as Taber’s vocals enter the mix, you know you’re in excellent company. The song has a Led Zeppelin flavor to it, making it sound absolutely timeless, as it depicts a very classic record for its distinctive composition between acoustics, organic sounds, and a massive lyrical front. There’s a story within it, as Taber’s vocals remain assuring and strong at the forefront of the song. It reminds me of sitting around a bonfire and enjoying feel-good music on a wintry night. The acoustic riffs convey a soothing nature, which really calms my nerves, as the band plays majestically and elegantly all the while holding on to a depth. The choruses feature full drums and a large number of extra voices. At this point, you can hear a powerfully pushed distant guitar thrown into the mix, which is brilliant at developing a momentum that slowly elevates the song from a simple folk song to a powerful folk sound with classic rock energy. The electric guitar solo fits in nicely and seamlessly, and it’s not until the end of the song that you realize how softly it began.
If you’re like me, you’re not ready to feel a wide range of emotions with this song!
