111 by Maddy Suppez: Album Review
Maddy Suppez is one outstanding artist, simply incredible! Her music put my soul on fire, and everything from the songwriting to the instrumental facets of her art captivated me immensely. “111” is an album crafted to perfection by Maddy Suppez and each song ranges from RnB to slow rap. The timbres of this record will impress you if what you seek are rhythmic numbers from the aforementioned genres.
The album opens up with “Night & Day.” It’s a spiritual rap track with ethereal rhythms and imbues a resonating cadence. The artist’s hip-hop flow is sensational and easy to vibe with. Next up is “Caged Bird” a soulful ode filled with deep basslines and soothing RnB vocal segments. Afterward, that essence is amplified and adds a nice groove with the track “Build Me a Way.” Some neo-soul facets are invited into the mix, with a buttery guitar arrangement keeping things mellow and fresh. “The Ascending” is Maddy Suppez at her most prime moment. The rap bars are just phenomenal, she fastens things up to excite our senses and slows down to make us ease our woes.
“Flow” and the ending track “111” is the ideal track to set a mood. By that I mean, pop this track on while cruising through midnight in a low rider, and anyone from every walk of life will greet you with respect.
