Listen to Post Malone and Roddy Ricchโs new song โCooped Upโ
Post Malone hasnโt released an album since Hollywoodโs Bleeding in 2019, but that will change next month with the release of twelve carat toothache. The album includes the Weeknd collaboration โOne Right Now,โ as well as a collaboration with Fleet Foxesโ Robin Pecknold titled โA Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol.โ But we wonโt get to hear that one just yet; instead, a new song with Roddy Ricch has surfaced ahead of Postyโs Saturday Night Live appearance this weekend.
The duoโs first collaboration since the โWow.โ remix, โCooped Up,โ is a miasmic pop-rap track in the manner of previous Posty blockbusters like โSunflower.โ โIโve been feelinโ cooped up,โ he sings on the hook, which sounds like something someone might write during a pandemic.
โIโm trying, man,โ Post Malone said to Appleโs Zane Lowe about โCooped Up.โ Iโm attempting. Iโve been out of my bag for quite some time now, and Iโm trying to get back in, guy. We knew exactly what we wanted to convey and express, not just in a song, but in that precise time on the album. And, yes, it came really naturally. I couldnโt tell you anything. โI was probably high at the time I wrote it.โ โHeโs just such a wonderful dude and simply a natural performer, vocalist, and writer,โ he said of Roddy Ricch. And he just goes for it, which is awesome. And itโs just fun to watch him develop. And heโs such a lovely, lovely man. And youโre incredibly talented, man. โIโm ecstatic.โ
Posty and Roddy will most likely play โCooped Upโ on Saturday Night Live this weekend, so get ready.
