a fall by antstat: Album Review
“a fall” the album by antstat is about how, from the moment you get up until the time you go to bed, you are forced to crawl out of a hole you dug for yourself and face the difficult journey of recovery that lies ahead. The band’s influences are Merchant Ships, Teen Suicide, Elliot Smith, and many others.
The first song, ” do you remember Connecticut” starts with the sound of water splashing on the shore, then comes the acoustic guitar along with the vocal. The song feels gloomy yet lively.
“Hoping to find myself” starts with a synth then comes the shuffling drums and after that the clean-toned rhythm and Kurt Cobain-style vocals. The guitar fills in between the composition were very soothing and calming, and the synth at the end of the track was very dreamy and ended the track pretty well.
“my angel” writes off the album with a soothing acoustic guitar rhythm and emotional vocals. The solo acoustic guitar accompanying the vocals exudes a nostalgic vibe in its composition. It has the same energy as ‘Good Riddance’ by Green Day.
“a fall” is a beautifully composed full-length album featuring soft and soothing sounds to comfort anyone’s nerves. The quality of the recording, mix, and mastering feels very organic and intimate. Overall, it was a deep and fun album to listen to.
