A new video for alt-J’s “The Actor” has been published.
It’s a track from the band’s new album, ‘The Dream,’ which was published earlier this year, and it arrives just in time for a summer of touring.
“Hollywood, 1982,” the band explains about the song. Another young movie star arrives, hoping to find The Dream. In LA’s most iconic hotel, a story of desperation, drugs, and death unfolds. “It’s ‘The Actor,'” says the narrator.
“Working with our amazing friend and director, Saskia Dixie, was a treat, and we believe her ability to capture the emotional side of this song complements ‘The Actor’ beautifully,” they say of the video.
