Melbourne singer-songwriter Shani Weiss marks a deeply personal and quietly powerful milestone with his six EP, All About Life, released alongside her 40th birthday and launched live at The Toff in Town on 13 November 2025. More than a collection of songs, the EP is a pause-and-breathe moment in a noisy world, rooted in folk-rock warmth and shaped by lived experience. Weiss writes from the inside out, focusing on relationships with family, partners, children, and friends, and how those bonds stretch, strain, and ultimately sustain us. It earns its emotional weight through sincerity.
The EP opens with a gentle, feel-good introduction, โAll About Life,โ built on relaxed guitar lines and softly thumping beats. Weiss sings lightly and joyfully, listing lifeโs simple pleasures, sunsets, shooting stars, road trips, puddle-jumping, shared laughter, all threaded together by the idea that time with loved ones is what truly counts. It is grounded, grateful, and open-hearted.
Things slow down and deepen on โWhatโs Left,โ where the mood turns heavier and more immersive. The drums hit with purpose, a warm melody drifts in, and Weissโ voice drops into a more deliberate, reflective register. She sings more tightly about how time is always โticking, ticking,โ speaking about how words and moments linger long after theyโve passed, nudging us toward mindfulness.
The EP closes on a reassuring high with โFeel Alright.โ Shimmering piano notes float over buoyant, vintage beats as Weiss delivers one of her most intimate vocal performances. Laidback and optimistic, strengthened by subtle backing vocals that join her toward the end, making the song feel communal and comforting.
All About Life invites listeners in, reminding us that connection, empathy, and presence are still the most radical choices we can make.
