Alt/Rock band ‘The Lunar Keys’ release a new single ‘Oxygen Type’ (Review)
This band is made up of four worried individuals that have too much nervous energy and tunes imprisoned in their heads to not be in it. JC, the singer/bassist, and Dom, the drummer, were expelled from a prior London band. In September 2019, they were joined by keyboardist and vocalist Lexi, and then in February 2020 by guitarist and singer “The Steve,” who was discovered singing and playing guitar on Rihanna’s “Umbrella” in a pub alongside accordion and violin players. The band was named to the Glastonbury Emerging Talent 2020 shortlist. Silent Ricochet, a new single, was released in May 2021, and Stop This, a new tune, will be released in September 2021.
The feeling you get to impulsively launch into the night,
on a high, bursting with total excitement at living every breath of a prospective night out to the maximum.
Experiencing the little disturbia that chimes with it – The Lunar Keys
‘Oxygen Type’ is an alternative rock song with a catchy rhythm that draws you in right away. The heaviness is perfect, and the voices blend seamlessly into the introduction. The singers’ faint echoes give them personality and give the track a strange start. The Killers’ influence is undeniable, but The Lunar Keys make the energetic sound their own.
One of the things I like about ‘Oxygen Type’ is how universal it is; you can easily imagine it being played on radios, at festivals, over speakers at a summer BBQ, and waking you up on your morning commute. It’s a single that will linger in your head because to its catchy bop and strong vocals.
The rhythm and sound of the tune are varied throughout, keeping the listener engaged, with good weighting given to the band as well as the vocals. ‘Oxygen Type’ is a track that will undoubtedly be played over and over again.
