Angels of Annunciation by Charlie Rauh: EP Review
Angels of Annunciation– a poetic and tender reference that blends with the fluid classical guitar from Charlie Rauh. His latest EP features unique artistry in music, a deep note that unfolds in an enchanting calmness.
Inspired by writings of Anne Morrow Lindgebrh, the EP is a collection of melodies that stirs storms of emotions with its minimalist classical guitar.
The Ep opens with (Posn), a short guitar melody that sets the tone for the rest of the EP- short, but unsettling and comforting at the same time. The next rack, The Voices That Can Make Us Hear is the first track that draws a contrasting scene with a melancholic undertone with the whole spectrum of emotions intertwined. The Plum For Courage blows out a wind that carries the melancholy built up that manifests itself as the tone starts to become more intense as it transitions to (Nil Hrd). The musical narrative takes a turn expanding into a blissful relief of the tension built up throughout the EP with Angels Of Annunciation. “Now There Are No More Words” highlights more technical aspects of the EP in its musical expressions with its use of contrasting notes and melodies. Contrast seems to be a recurring theme in this recording. The EP comes to a full circle with its conclusion, (Sorry pse rpt). In its short playtime, the amount of emotions this minimalist EP conveys is really impressive.
