Anxiety by Swats: Review
Swats (Songwriting And Tactical Sounds) is an artist from Charlotte, North Carolina who works in a variety of genres. His music incorporates elements of pop, hip-hop, rock, and electronic dance music, with a strong emphasis on musical synergy. “Anxiety” is a soulful song filled with RnB melodies and fierce rap verses that can surely turn a bad day into a great one.
As an artist, Swats has a tight melodic sense. His singing ability is quite clear, and the rap verses align perfectly in a fast-paced manner. Instrumentation in rap music is quite essential, and with the right variety of chords, it just feels like magic to hear. Thus, “Anxiety” has a perfect rhythm that sounds really cozy to hear. Combining that with the bravado and vibrato techniques of the singer, ahh it’s just bliss! I also would like to say that rappers who can express such vast poetry in a “race against time” kinda way, are simply of a different breed of musicians. It’s almost like wizardry. Like the artists cast a spell and they’re able to flow bars of solid fire, just as Swats did with “Anxiety”!
The keyboard, synthesizer, and beat arrangements of “Anxiety” are interesting. They seem to follow this dramatic routine of presenting the artist in a style that when verse sections drop, it is under a spotlight, and then vice versa for the chorus bits. This interesting interplay in the artist’s performance is exquisite, and I feel overall it is truly a track of the ages.
