Are You Sorry Yet? by Indoor Friends: Review
Indoor Friends is a Punk-rock/pop band with a lively presence. Their track “Are You Sorry Yet?” is a sentimental piece filled with rich guitar riffs and soothing vocals that emanate a catchy melody.
The guitar arrangements in the track are just sensational. From the very first riff breakdown, I got the sense of rain falling, as the tone is so darn nostalgic, it’s filled with a shower of rhythm and a chain of memories that is remarkable. In the early 2000s, most alternative bands, and punk rock groups incorporated this tone on their guitars which is deeply remembered by musicians such as myself. I am so happy that Indoor Friends also used a similar pattern! Also, their guitar playing and the individual notes in certain transitions also sound a bit like math rock. The vocalist Amanda has a carefree and joyous attitude toward her singing ability. She dives right into the music and moves throughout the song with a sweet voice. Her ability to stay in a perfect range with the instrumentation of the track is truly remarkable.
The drums in the track are quite energetic. They’re not too energetic though, the drummer maintains a perfect balance that maintains itself in perfect harmony with the song’s true nature. Here are some exceptional lyrics from “Are You Sorry Yet?” –
“And I always try to hide it
But all I ever really want is
Just to leave you in the past
Cause when I get to thinking
Somewhere in my heart I knew
That we were never meant to last”
