LOCS is a ferocious rapper who was born in Columbus, Ohio, but is now based in Atlanta. His level of intensity and lyrical talent is virtually unmatched. LOCS is able to add intensity and flexibility to his music which is incomparable to other rappers of today. This helps him carve out a niche for himself in the modern rap scene. “ARRIVAL” is a solid seven-track EP filled with fire rap verses and techno beats guaranteed to make your head bop.
The entire EP is driven by minimal synths and gritty beats. The rap style and method LOCS incorporates are swift and rigorous. His music is perfect for MMA fights to amp up the athletes. Heck, it’s also great to pump your iron at the gym. There’s a certain tenacity in the lyrical sense of LOCS, he’s able to express each word as if it meant something articulate. There’s no BS in his music, and I’m glad each of his songs on the EP is meaningful and full of flow. My personal favorite is the last track titled “CANTU”. It brings out a synth-fueled rhythm that is a bit similar to classical Chinese music. Hence, with the rapper’s flow being added to it, it feels like a bonafide martial arts flick where the hero gives all the goons a good ass-whoopin’.
Overall, ARRIVAL by LOCS is an excellent EP and a lit one at that. The pace of the rapper is extraordinary, and I believe he can take his music to new heights.
