Bats Over The Eastern Freeway by Low Key Crush: EP Review
Low Key Crush, a band based in Melbourne, has released a new EP called โBats Over The Eastern Freeway.โ With inspiring lyrics and sincere production working together to create an engaging sound, the album deals with themes like dating, avoiding commitment, and long-lasting friendship.
The synth-tinged โ80s tone and chirpy guitar jangles of โLong Lost Friendโ exude dramatic aspects that are evocative of The Stone Roses. This is especially the case in the song. In the middle of the poetic recollections, the vocals express a yearning for better times. โBats Throughout the Eastern Freewayโ evolves from a delicacyย into a vibrant ardency over the course of the album. An atmosphere that is at first reflective, with sweet vocals and soothing guitar strums, is an excellent accompaniment for star-watching at night. The drowsier mood is quickly jolted awake by the swift, bouncy guitars and cheerful rhythms that pack irresistible rock punches. The album comes to a close with โI Want You to Stay,โ which is a stunning combination of expansive rock and affectionate singer-songwriter vocals. Beginnings that are patiently led by a bass find slow accompaniment from guitars, which flutter with loving affection upon the vocal reassurances. Itโs an emotionally-driven tune.
Consisting of just two people, Taycian on guitar and Tim on drums, Low Key Crush is crushing the musical scene with a hazy, guitar-driven feel, while the lyrics convey a sense of passionate desire. Thereโs no going back from such amazingness, so go ahead and tune in!
