Billy Got Waves Releases Smooth Rap Track “Heaven”
Billy Got Waves is a talented hip-hop artist based in Edinburgh, who began his journey at just 12 years old. And by 2018, his first project, Kill Billy, had made him one of the most inventive musicians in the country’s expanding rap scene. It featured his distinctive voice and clever lyricism over a mix of cutting-edge hip-hop beats, and it won him the 2019 IMA Award for Best Scottish Album.
In 2020, Billy and his close friend Joell collaborated and made a project together called “Wish You Well.” It was a futuristic alternative trap record with incredible songwriting, and it got over a million plays on Spotify alone! Billy received a lot of live shows afterward such as the Scottish showcases Resonate and Wide Days, as well as support slots for acts like Kojey Radical, Che Lingo, A$AP NAST, 808INK, GAIKA, House of Pharaohs, Shingai, Tion Wayne, Young T & Bugsey, and many more.
Now moving onto our focus of today, Billy’s track “Heaven.” It was released on March 24th and is a fantastic mix of RnB and hip-hop. The track is a tribute to the initial moment Billy saw his girlfriend, he perceived her as a goddess. This sentiment is brought on beautifully through joyous synth tones with Billy’s trademark voice to create an enchanting atmosphere that sounds like it came from a different dimension. The flow of the track is incredible, and it’ll put you in a trance you’ll never forget. Hoping to experience that thrill? Well, that’s easy ’cause you can stream it right now!
