Hollow Profit and Ben Beal releases Birds & Bullets, a gritty, old-school hip-hop track that layers classic boom bap beats with smoky jazz samples courtesy of producer 47 Quid. As the seventh track on Hollow Profit’s album QUIBONO?, this collaboration draws inspiration from Ben Beal’s 2020 track Birds Aren’t Real and Hollow Profit’s alter ego, “Crimson Dot.”
The track opens with a moody brass, setting a nostalgic and somber atmosphere. Hollow Profit’s deep, husky vocals create a smoky, lounge-like ambiance, drawing listeners in before the boom bap beats drop with a head-nodding intensity. His smooth, charismatic flow aligns seamlessly with the rhythm, delivering intricate rhymes that feel effortless yet impactful.
Hollow Profit’s influences, including Kendrick Lamar and Wu-Tang Clan, also shine through with sharp, introspective bars that anchor the song’s old-school vibe.
Birds & Bullets combines nostalgia with tight, rhythmically engaging beats. Check out the hooky number on Spotify.
