Birthday Cake by BUZZKILL JOY: Review
The energy of Punk music is glorious. Which brings us to โBirthday Cakeโ by BUZZKILL JOY, a powerful, gritty, and masterful song that just screams the youth right out of you. The artist is a gem and he shall be a rising star in the music industry. This is evident from the creative guitar works, which consists of riffs full of vitality and a vocal sound reminiscent of a young Billie Joe Armstrong. Upon hearing Birthday Cake it immediately reminded me of Green Day, and what do you know turns out BUZZ KILL JOYโs one of the many inspirations are the punk legends themselves.
Iโve played Birthday Cake multiple times now, and it holds a special place in my heart. This is because, as a young teenager I grew up listening to punk rock a lot, and it got me through my youth indeed. This song breathes nostalgia, man, BUZZKILL JOY where were you in my teen years? The guitar solo alone takes me back to moments in my bedroom when I used to do air guitar tricks pretending to play a solo myself, and indeed it is a beautiful feeling.
BUZZKILL JOY is a solo musician, and quite simply an incredible one at his craft. When asked about his creative process, he answered with the story of โBillyโ. A fictional character after financial benefit, rather than family, friendship, and experiences. Hence, he suffers punishment for it. Feel the rush of โBirthday Cakeโ over on Spotify, youโll thank me later.
