With โBorn Ready,โ Jesse Kinch delivers a blistering, autobiographical anthem that fuses hard rock intensity with spoken word grit. This sonic memoir also comes as a war cry, wrapped in fuzzy guitars and adrenaline-pumping drums. The track opens with low, churning guitars and thunderous drums that immediately set a stormy, rebellious mood. Kinch begins with a angry, sarcastic spoken word, with a young man recounting a life wired to music, misunderstood by everyone from friends to doctors. His thick, gnarly voice drips with frustration, but also resilience.
And then, without warning, the song erupts. The spoken word builds like a pressure cooker until Kinch explodes into full-throttle vocals. He spits bars over bars, fully convicted. Every line feels like itโs coming from the gut. The guitars blaze like a wildfire, cymbals crash like lightning, and the drums roll like thunder behind him.
Lyrically, โBorn Readyโ is a coming-of-age manifesto set to distortion. He sings, โIโve lived, Iโve learned and Iโve watched my whole world burn!โ the lines hitting hard like punches to the chest. Heโs exposing his vulnerabilities and is proud of what came out of all that suffering, in surviving, in believing, in refusing to die creatively or spiritually.
The cover art, a collage of Kinch as a child with a guitar beside his adult self with a guitar, ties it all together. It says all you need to know. This has always been his destiny. He was born for the stage, born for the fight, born for rock and roll.
