Break Me is a new emo track by Maggie Lindemann. Siiickbrain is featured in this video. SUCKERPUNCH, Maggie Lindemann’s debut album, is set to be released later this year.
Maggie Lindemann has collaborated on fantastic tracks with musicians such as Kellin Quinn, LL, and Travis Barker over the years, expanding her scope and inventiveness as an artist. Siiickbrain, for example, has collaborated on singles with WILLOW, Kayzo, and Skrillex, to name a few. Maggie and Siiickbrain, of course, have crossed paths as up-and-coming powers in the alternative scene, creating furious music with compelling themes. They’ve already collaborated on a few singles, but they’re teaming up again for the electrifying “break me!”
Maggie and Siiickbrain describe the complicated story of a problematic circumstance in “break me!” They sing about the darkness and light they’ve found over industrial-infused beats, loaded with “desire,” “fear,” and “self-infliction.” When Maggie sings in the chorus, “Every time you attempt to break me / I feel my heart withering,” it all comes to a head. In the video below, directed by Siiickbrain, you can see it in action.
About the single and video, Maggie shares,
“‘break me!’ is about being intoxicated. It’s all the feelings it gives you, that rush of fear and adrenaline, but also the calmness and peace. The video is meant to convey the juxtaposition of the two – one moment you’re euphoric and the next you feel like you’re broken, suffocating and your heart is decaying.”
“break me!” is the latest from Maggie’s upcoming album, SUCKERPUNCH, which is available for pre-order here.
