Breathe by We Are To Blame: Review
Sunlight approaches the horizon and is met by metalwork. Here, in “Breathe” by the Metal band “We Are To Blame,” light and dark interact as dusk settles. In this song, you will encounter a flurry of distorted guitars and a voice fit for a queen. The sound of dragons squaring off is, to me, the musical embodiment of this feeling.
We Are To Blame’s “Breathe” has an explosive metal opening, and the ferocity of their music seems like a boss battle ready to begin. The combination of Alice Hartvig’s delicate yet commanding vocals with those ferocious guitar chords is captivating. She is the star of the show, and his performance embodies the spirit of heavy metal. Despite not having a growling voice, her singing is pristine and incredibly talented. The song builds as though a raging fire were controlling it, and the singer’s voice soothes and calms the blaze. The subtle piano is present, and the arpeggio run of the guitars can be heard in the background; together, the two elements are highly melodic. Any metalhead will enjoy this track where the guitar tone is so crushing and the guitarists are so skilled at muting and playing solos that they make your soul dance.
The track’s intermission blew my mind; after a flurry of metal rhythms, it gradually settles into a progressive, lilting piano melody, and then there’s a solo that will make your heart race with its tremendous pulling, some dual effects, and sweeping to make anyone awestruck.
