Robbie Rosen and Interstate Snake turn a basketball broadcast into a supernatural party with “Bring The Madness,” a high-energy collision of pop, hip-hop and cinematic spectacle. Written by Beth Franco, Rosen and Rob Aster, the track found an especially fitting stage in CBS Sports’ coverage of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, where its relentless momentum and chant-ready hook could easily soundtrack a game swinging into chaos.
The song opens under roaring clouds and a crack of thunder, followed by the eerie, cinematic swell of pipe organs. Then Interstate Snake steps in with a smug, playful rap, surrounded by hyping backing vocals and steadily thumping drums. His deep, raspy delivery gives the production a grounded weight as he unleashes a surreal parade of ghouls, zombies, witches, vampires and neon-green aliens, all somehow finding their way onto the basketball court.
Then Rosen arrives with a completely different kind of force. His sensational falsetto glides from line to line, bringing soulful brightness and melodic lift to the darker, rougher rap. Interstate Snake supplies the pressure and swagger, while Rosen sends the song soaring upward. Even the bass carries a subtle Thriller echo, tying the music to its pop-horror atmosphere.
And the hook knows what it is doing. “Bring The Madness” keeps returning to its infectious central refrain, surrounded by pounding rhythm and an increasingly celebratory arrangement. By the final stretch, Rosen’s delivery becomes softer and more soothing, almost unexpectedly touching after all the supernatural mayhem.
The accompanying video, directed by Eli Lev, doubles down on the madness with a Thriller-meets-Space Jam fantasy of graveyards, ghosts, and possessed basketball players. Yet the darkness eventually lifts into “Live Right Now,” giving the story a sunnier release.
Big, weird, and relentlessly energetic, “Bring The Madness” understands that sometimes the best way to celebrate the game is to let the entire court go completely off the rails.
