Oklahoma rapper Jasoh turns inward on ROOFIEZ, a gritty snapshot of the distance between who he was in high school and the person he has become. Released May 14, 2026, the album marks a major step forward in his production, moving from bedroom recordings toward a fuller, more deliberate sound. Still, the rough-edged personality of the music remains intact, giving the project the feeling of someone digging through old memories without sanding down their sharpest corners.
“EVEN PAINS,” featuring Slim Spitta, throws the listener straight into that tension. Hard-hitting beats rumble beneath deep bass and gritty, glitching electronic buzzes while Jasoh delivers his verses with a catchy, almost smug moodiness. The track keeps shifting between confrontation, resentment and psychological turmoil, making its aggression feel more like a mind wrestling with everything it refuses to leave behind.
The title track, “ROOFIEZ,” is even more immediately infectious. Sharp, distorted synths pulse over heavy, rumbling beats as Jasoh raps with a cool, confident swagger that quickly rubs off on the listener. There is a strange tension between the track’s cockiness and the vulnerability underneath it: family concerns, damaged relationships and an awareness of his own destructive tendencies keep poking through the bravado.
Then “RUNTZ,” featuring Jay Phatty, slows the temperature without losing the album’s darkness. A soft opening conversation gives way to sensual textures before chiming guitar melodies shimmer above immersive production. Jasoh and Jay Phatty rap quickly but with surprising emotional softness, circling uncertainty, isolation, pain and the ghosts of experiences that refuse to stay buried.
Recorded in the house where Jasoh grew up, ROOFIEZ feels appropriately haunted by its own history. The album captures an artist looking backward, recognizing what followed him forward, and turning that baggage into momentum. For Jasoh, evolution means making something louder out of where he came from.
