Broke Kid by The Mars McClanes: Review
The Mars McClanes are an alternative-country band. It is indeed a mashup of a genre that hasn’t been explored much. Therefore, after listening to their electrifying and wholesome track “Broke Kid” I was unbelievably impressed! The waves crash on by in this track and as the ukulele plays a picture is painted on a melodic canvas. A bright indie singer graces our ears, his voice is so melodic and positive that it makes me want to rise up to any point in life and feel the taste of freedom!
The ukulele playing and the singer’s voice fuse so well together. My God! The poetic lyrics are also quite rich and joyful. There is such a sensational style in the band’s overall performance. When I knew the song couldn’t get any better, then came the beautiful crescendo of drums, bass, and immensely colorfast ukulele strumming. Indie has no boundaries ladies and gents and The Mars McClanes surely proved that. “Broke Kid” is everything creative all at once, and it is present here to the fullest extent.
The transitions are quite interesting in the track, from slow to fast, to a progressive rise, and some mid-level elements balance it out. Overall, this is what happiness sounds like when the titular main character in a play finds eternal sunshine and covers his mind where no spots of evil exist. The electric guitar effects are quite interesting; they achieve this reverb effect that adds an alternative rock effect to the piece.
