Some breakups leave you picking up the pieces, while others make you realise you’ve dodged a bullet. Exzenya’s “B!tch Please” takes the latter route, turning infidelity into a fiery blues-rock declaration of freedom. Built around a woman’s unapologetic response to the person who slept with her husband, the single swaps heartbreak for biting humour, sharp perspective, and the delicious satisfaction of knowing the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Musically, the track comes out swinging. Fuzzy, heavy guitars grind beneath smug, catchy, thumping beats, while sparkly cymbal splashes add extra bite to the arrangement. There’s a gritty roots-rock backbone here, drawing on bluesy storytelling rather than glossy pop polish. Leading the charge is Exzenya’s thick, commanding voice, delivered with theatrical flair and a wonderfully knowing attitude. She sounds like someone who has already packed her bags and discovered life looks better without the baggage.
The lyrics are where the real fireworks begin. “I’m the one with the money, honey” sets the tone for a tale that gleefully dismantles the fantasy of stealing another woman’s supposedly perfect life. The repeated “Bitch please, you set me free” becomes the song’s killer hook, flipping betrayal into unexpected liberation. After all, if a man cheats on his wife, what makes anyone think he’ll suddenly become faithful to his mistress?
Yet beneath the sass, Exzenya makes a pointed observation about trust, self-worth, and the cost of chasing someone else’s life. The song’s greatest strength is its refusal to wallow. “B!tch Please” serves up blues-rock attitude with a catchy chorus and a clear message: sometimes, losing the wrong person is the best thing that can happen to you.
