By Any Means Necessary by 9 O’Clock Nasty: Album Review

Whether by chance or pure intentions, the Leicester-based band 9 O’Clock Nasty is adopting an organic sound with their newest album titled “By Any Means Necessary.” This album wreaks confidence, and I say it because, in their own words, it is “all killer no filler,” making it arguably the best album of the year. It’s a nonstop barrage of adrenaline, consisting of a series of garage rock miracles.

Straightforward in its approach yet lighthearted, “By Any Means Necessary” is all about the grooves and ambiances. 9 O’Clock Nasty says “The songs on the record chart our 12-month journey towards that mythical 2-minute punk gem. We bring you door-kicking intros, driving verses, and anthemic choruses.” There are 17 excellent songs in total, of which 3 musical excerpts were dug up from the past that may better convey more meaning than any words could, and a demo single that could end up being better than the actual single itself. The sexual overtones within the menacing drum and thumping bass of “Do Me Too” is a finger-lickin good track. There are some witty lyrics, oozing with personality, in some tracks, with contrasts of catchy and playful vibes in some others like “Food On The Floor”. One of the best tracks is “Indoor Boyfriend” which features the maximum potential of the band.

Piece by piece, until the very last song, the entire album is an absolute treat. Your jaws are going to be dropped, with their skillful riffs and seamless transitions from one to another. Hope your experience goes as astounding as mine!
