if now we are in pieces by Brendan Cope: Album Review
Surrounded by the aura of digital dreams, and a profound sound filled with a breath of folktronica, Brendan Cope arrives with his album “if now we are in pieces”. It is an eleven-track full-length album that is musically adventurous and imbued with a melodic color palette ranging from calming vocals to electronic soundscapes. Stay tuned, for a sensational overview of Brendan’s incredible work!
Brendan’s work on the album has hints of avant-garde, experimental electronica, and a peaceful vocal introduction. It is all atmospheric and filled with uniquely synthesized music production. Tracks like “Falling in Love” for example have perfect transitions with an indie-pop aesthetic Accompanied by sensational vocals featuring Nosila, Brendan’s also no stranger to bringing his melodic singing along. Another techno-fantasy is “What are the Odds” which is a deep dive into melancholy with synthesizers and deep bass lines. Feels like an ocean wave of electronica that brushes against your legs while at the beach. Most of the tracks on the album feature sensational synthesizer pieces that resemble a bit of lofi and folktronica, with some guitars too on tracks such as “During This Life”.
The final title track “if now we are in pieces” is a shining diamond full of kaleidoscopic synths and keyboard elements that have the spiritual aesthetic of mandala drawings. Brendan’s vocal production on this track is incredible and adds a diverse take on each instrument’s cohesion with it too. All in all, the album is a must-listen for those night-time escapades, or that “after-party” vibe that most of us desire.
