Captor by Iceberg: Review

“Captor” was released on November 4, 2022, by Iceberg. It’s the fourth single off her upcoming EP Swim. She creates in the world of indie rock and is the producer, artist, and multi-instrumentalist on this song and on her other projects. Listening to “Captor” is like going on a journey of self-healing from a toxic relationship. The artist’s effortless storytelling and touching words make it a hypnotic and delicate experience. From her honest, thoughtful lyrics to the brilliant production and sound, “Captor” takes the listener on a beautiful journey.
The song begins with horns and a soothing backing hum, followed by peaceful, sexy, and slightly whispery vocals that immediately capture the listener’s attention. Accompanying the voice is acoustic guitar plucking which is so calming. The simple bass line lets the other instruments shine. When the song kicks into high gear it explodes with energy. The drumming is tight with the bass and vocals. Captor has a nostalgic feel. It reminds you of times past.
It’s easy to get lost in the single’s soothing, all-encompassing soundscape. Brilliant composition with tasteful instrumentation and one-of-a-kind vocal work made the track unique and satisfying.
